Ministry of Health Promotes Healthy Lifestyles Among Teens Through 'Si Paling Megang' Campaign

SEAToday.com, Jakarta - Indonesia’s Ministry of Health is strengthening its commitment to building a healthier generation through community and digital-based approaches, including the "Si Paling Megang" roadshow held at GOR 27 September, Mulawarman University, on Saturday (4/26).
Director of Health Promotion and Community Health at the Ministry, Dr. Elvieda Sariwati, M.Epid, stated that the program aims to encourage teenagers to adopt balanced diets and regular physical activity to prevent the rise of non-communicable diseases.
"Through fun and engaging methods, we aim to instill healthy habits from an early age," she said as quoted on Antara.
The event engaged more than 150 teenagers in activities such as a fun walk, health talk shows, and interactive games. It is supported by the "Si Paling Megang" app, which helps users track their daily food intake and physical activity.
Country Director of the World Food Programme Indonesia, Jennifer Rosenzweig, emphasized that investing in youth health is key to achieving a strong and resilient Indonesia by 2045.
Moving forward, the "Si Paling Megang" initiative will expand to more regions across Indonesia, aiming to make healthy living a national youth-driven movement.
