Penyebab stress akibat pemilu dapat berasal dari berita hoax dan misinformasi. Selain itu iklim politik yang berujung perdebatan di media sosial juga dapat menjadi pemicu munculnya stress.
Jika selama masa pemilu muncul perasaan gelisah, mudah tersinggung, sulit konsentrasi, bahkan sampai mengganggu nafsu makan itu sudah menunjukkan adanya gejala stress.
Cara mengatasi gejala-gejala tersebut dapat dengan istirahat dari media sosial sejenak. Perbanyak kegiatan sosial yang bermanfaat agar dapat terdistraksi dari efek negatif dari pemilu. Dapat juga dengan fokuskan diri pada hobi agar dapat menenangkan diri.
Dilansir dari Antara News, Obrin Parulian, Direktur Pelayanan Kesehatan Primer dari Kementerian Kesehatan menyatakan,
“Kemenkes sudah menyiapkan beberapa rumah sakit jiwa dan rumah sakit umum yang punya layanan kesehatan jiwa seandainya ada yang harus dirawat karena masalah kejiwaan pasca pemilu.”
