718 Bahasa Daerah Terancam Punah, Kemendikbudristek Ungkap Pentingnya Revitalisasi
SEAToday.com, Jakarta-Badan Pengembangan dan Pembinaan Bahasa Kementerian Pendidikan, Kebudayaan, Riset, dan Teknologi (Kemendikbudristek) mengatakan bahwa beberapa bahasa daerah dinyatakan mengalami kepunahan yang signifikan.
Menurut Aminudin Aziz selaku Kepala Badan Bahasa Kemendikbudristek mengatakan bahwa sebanyak 718 bahasa daerah terancam punah karena tren globalisasi yang semakin marak.
"Data terkini menunjukkan penurunan signifikan dalam vitalitas beberapa bahasa daerah, yang berarti jumlah bahasa yang mengalami kemunduran terus meningkat," kata Aminudin dikutip dari Antara, Minggu (6/5/2024).
Kepunahan penutur bahasa daerah juga dipicu oleh munculnya sikap negatif terhadap bahasa daerahnya, meningkatnya perkawinan silang, urbanisasi, dan kebijakan yang tidak banyak berpihak pelestarian bahasa daerah.
Aminudin juga mengatakan perlu adanya kerjasama antara pemerintah pusat dan daerah agar dapat merevitalisasi secara bertahap, sistematis, dan berkelanjutan.
"Pemerintah, baik pusat maupun daerah, harus bersinergi untuk menekan penurunan vitalitas bahasa daerah melalui upaya revitalisasi," katanya.
Revitalisasi bahasa daerah membutuhkan pendekatan multilevel yang melibatkan berbagai kalangan kerjasama lokal maupun internasional. Ini mencakup pengakuan atas pentingnya bahasa daerah dalam bidang pendidikan, pemanfaatan teknologi, dan digitalisasi. (SALSABILLA/DKD)
