Sirup Legendaris Indonesia, Si Manis Tjampolay dari Cirebon

SEAToday.com, Cirebon-Dunia persirupan di Indonesia marak dengan berbagai merek dari berbagai negara. Namun, jangan salah, Indonesia punya sirup-sirup asli yang melegenda. Salah satunya adalah sirup Tjampolay yang berasal dari Cirebon.

Merk kebanggaan warga Cirebon ini popular banget di Indonesia, karena rasanya yang manis dan segar. Namun, SEATizens tahu nggak, Tjampolay itu sebenarnya nama buah loh. Kita lebih mengenalnya dengan nama Sawo Belanda.

Sirup Tjampolay pertama kali diproduksi oleh Tan Tjek Tjiu pada tahun 1936. Awalnya hanya ada rasa Rozen Roos dan Asam Jeruk. Buah Tjampolay alias Sawo Belanda, menjadi bahan dasar gula alami sirup ini. Selain karena rasanya yang enak, Sawo Belanda juga berbuah sepanjang tahun tanpa mengenal musim.

Baru pada tahun 90-an, varian rasa sirup Tjampolay makin banyak, dan yang paling terkenal hingga saat ini adalah si Pisang Susu. Salah satu buah tangan paling banyak diminati kalau ke Cirebon adalah Sirup Tjampolay, rasa Pisang Susu.

Dan kebiasaan minum sirup juga sebenarnya dipopulerkan oleh orang Belanda. Mereka merasa kegerahan tinggal di daerah tropis. Apalagi di Cirebon yang merupakan daerah pesisir, makin gerah, maka minum es sirup dingin jadi budaya popular saat itu.

Sekarang, budaya minum sirup masih marak, apalagi di bulan Ramadan, atau perayaan hari-hari special. Menyajikan aneka minuman berbahan dasar sirup, dengan berbagai olahannya jadi salah satu tradisi Indonesia. Hayooo, siapa yang suka berburu sirup atau es buah kalau ada acara keluarga? (SYARA/DKD)
