Meta Pertimbangkan Sensor Istilah Zionis di Facebook, Instagram, dan Threads?

SEAToday.com, Jakarta - Induk perusahaan Facebook Meta telah menyatakan kepada beberapa kelompok masyarakat sipil bahwa mereka sedang mencari cara untuk menanggapi istilah 'Zionis' sebagai bagian dari kebijakan ujaran kebencian.

The Intercept melaporkan, istilah ‘Zionis’ telah digunakan di media sosial untuk melabeli para pendukung Israel dan tentaranya, namun istilah tersebut telah disalahgunakan sebagai sinonim untuk orang-orang Yahudi. 

Melansir dari The Hindu, faktanya, banyak aktivis Yahudi yang ikut memprotes aksi Israel dan tidak semua Zionis adalah orang Yahudi atau Israel, karena orang-orang dari berbagai kebangsaan dan agama percaya yang percaya pada hak keberadaan Israel.

Meta mempertimbangkan untuk menyensor istilah tersebut untuk mencegah antisemitisme.  Dengan mempertimbangkan pilihannya, perusahaan juga mengumumkan bahwa mereka tidak akan merekomendasikan konten politik kepada pengguna di Instagram dan Threads. 

“Jika anda memutuskan untuk mengikuti akun yang memposting konten politik, kami tidak akan memisahkan anda dan postingan mereka, namun kami juga tidak ingin secara proaktif merekomendasikan konten politik dari akun yang tidak anda ikuti,"

"Jadi kami memperluas pendekatan kami saat ini dalam menangani konten politik – kami tidak akan secara proaktif merekomendasikan konten tentang politik pada platform rekomendasi di Instagram dan Threads,” pemberitahuan di situs web Instagram.
