SEAToday.com, Jakarta - Penyanyi Usher membongkar rutinitasnya di hari Rabu setiap pekan dalam sebuah wawancara dengan The Wall Street Journal Magazine. Usher mengaku jika pada hari itu ia tidak makan satu hari penuh seperti kebiasaan sang nenek.
"Saya berpuasa, bukan untuk tujuan keagamaan, tetapi itu adalah sesuatu yang nenek saya lakukan," kata Usher seperti yang dikutip ANTARA.
Usher memulai puasa setiap Rabu pukul 11 malam dan berlanjut sepanjang hari dengan hanya mengonsumsi air. Setelah berpuasa, ia akan memulai hari dengan minuman hangat yang berisi campuran lemon, jahe, air, dan cabai cayenne.
Pemenang delapan penghargaan Grammy itu juga mengungkapkan, dirinya baru makan setelah melakukan olahraga. Bagi Usher, kegiatan seperti berjalan, yoga, dan berjemur di bawah sinar matahari sudah menjadi bagian dari rutinitas paginya.
"Berenang dan bersepeda juga merupakan cara favorit saya untuk tetap aktif. Kalau angkat beban, saya tidak banyak melakukan itu," katanya.
Selain aktivitas tersebut, Usher juga berusaha menjaga keseimbangan fisik dan mental dengan meditasi.
"Saya mencoba bangun pagi untuk memiliki momen refleksi. Kadang membaca buku untuk merangsang pikiran saya. Saya mungkin duduk diam dan bermeditasi," ujarnya.
Penyanyi berusia 45 tahun itu kini tengah mempersiapkan diri untuk tur konser mendatangnya sebagai bagian dari promosi album ke sembilannya, ‘Coming Home’.
Kebiasaan tersebut merupakan cara Usher untuk mendukung performanya di atas panggung. Melalui perpaduan warisan sang nenek dan rutinitas modern, Usher menunjukkan bahwa menciptakan keseimbangan hidup dapat dilakukan dengan cara yang mudah.
