SEAToday.com, Cianjur - Balai Besar Taman Nasional Gunung Gede Pangrango, menutup pendakian selama tiga bulan mulai tanggal 25 Desember sampai Maret 2025. Penutupan dilakukan guna pemulihan ekosistem di kawasan Gunung Gede-Pangrango.
Humas Balai Besar Taman Nasional Gunung Gede Pangrango Agus Deni di Cianjur Selasa, 24 Desember 2024 mengatakan penutupan tersebut berdasarkan surat edaran nomor 30/BBTNGGP/Tek/B/12/2024 yang dikeluarkan pada 20 Desember 2024.
"Penutupan dilakukan untuk pemulihan ekosistem di taman nasional khususnya di jalur pendakian Gede-Pangrango, selama tiga bulan kedepan tidak ada pendaki yang diizinkan naik," katanya, dilansir Antara.
Ia menjelaskan bahwa penutupan dilakukan karena cuaca ekstrem yang masih melanda kawasan taman nasional sejak beberapa pekan terakhir dan diperkirakan akan terus terjadi hingga awal tahun berdasarkan informasi dari BMKG.
Untuk mencegah terjadinya pendakian ilegal selama penutupan, pihaknya akan menggencarkan patroli yang dilakukan petugas terutama di jalur utama dan sejumlah jalur ilegal termasuk melibatkan masyarakat sekitar kaki gunung dalam melakukan pengawasan.
"Selain petugas yang melakukan patroli, kami melibatkan masyarakat guna melakukan pengawasan dengan segera melapor ketika mendapati pendaki ilegal," katanya.
Sanksi tegas akan diberikan bagi mereka yang melanggar dan nekad melakukan pendakian selama jalur ditutup seperti yang sudah diterapkan beberapa tahun terakhir seperti larangan mendaki di seluruh gunung yang masuk dalam taman nasional di Indonesia.
"Berbagai pertimbangan dilakukan termasuk menjaga keselamatan pendaki karena cuaca ekstrem yang masih melanda kawasan taman nasional serta pemulihan ekosistem yang selama satu tahun banyak dilalui pendaki," tutupnya.
