SEAToday.com, Jakarta-Indomie is one of the top instant noodle brands worldwide known for how rich it tastes. One of its flavors, Indomie Goreng Jumbo Barbeque Chicken, beats 30 other noodle brands and secured the first rank in the “Instant Ramen Power Ranking” by Lucas Kwan Peterson in Los Angeles Times (LA Times). Behind their delightful flavors, Nunuk Nuraini holds a vital role in formulating its seasonings.

Nunuk graduated from the Food Technology program at the Industrial Technology Faculty (FTIP) of Padjadjaran University. She joined Indofood, where she spent nearly three decades as the Flavor Development Manager, crafting a wide array of instant noodle seasonings.

In the 1980s, she pioneered the fried noodle flavor, which became the first “dry” noodle, using traditional ingredients to create a unique taste. Nunuk’s most famous creation, the Indomie Goreng, cemented her legacy as a driving force behind the brand’s triumph.

Beyond the Indomie Goreng, she developed various other popular flavors, including chicken curry, green chili, and soto. Additionally, Nunuk was instrumental in creating the original flavors of Sarimie and Supermie.

Nunuk Nuraini passed away on January 27, 2021. Following her passing, an outpouring of grief and admiration flooded online, highlighting the impact of her culinary contributions. Though she is no longer with us, her flavors and creations will forever be cherished by Indomie enthusiasts.
