SEAToday.com, Jakarta - Maliq & D'Essentials siap merilis album baru yang menjadi album ke-9 mereka berjudul "Can Machines Fall In Love?". Album ini akan dirilis pada 30 Mei 2024 sekaligus menyambut hari ulang tahun ke-22 band yang berdiri sejak 2002 ini.
Dalam acara Hearing Session Experience di kawasan Sudirman, Jakarta Selatan, pada Selasa (7/5/2024), Widi salah satu personil Maliq & D'Essentials mengatakan bahwa mereka sebenarnya tidak terlalu memikirkan dari sisi lirik album ini apakah akan jatuh cinta atau akan sedih-sedihan. Mereka langsung on the spot, apa yang relevan di anggota grup ini.
Ia juga mengatakan kalau hampir semua lirik tidak ada yang datang secara mentahan. Sementara, dari sisi aransemen mereka mengacu pada album pertama hingga keempat.
Terdapat total tujuh lagu yang dihadirkan di album "Can Machines Fall In Love", termasuk dua single hits mereka sebelumnya yang viral yaitu "Aduh" dan "Kita Bikin Romantis". Selain dua lagu tersebut, terdapat juga lagu "Intro", "Dadidu di Dada", "Terus Terang", "Begini Begitu", dan "Hari Terakhir".
Butuh waktu hampir setahun untuk Maliq & D'Essentials untuk merilis album ke-9 mereka. Waktu yang cukup panjang karena mereka ingin memberikan sentuhan khas Maliq di dalam album tersebut, serta totalitas dalam merilis sebuah karya musik.
Nama "Can Machines Fall In Love?" sendiri diambil dari pengalaman pribadi tiap anggota grup ini selama mengerjakan album di tengah kecanggihan teknologi. Bagi mereka, "perasaan" merupakan hal yang tidak bisa tergantikan dengan kecanggihan teknologi, sehingga mereka ini mengekspresikan hal itu melalui album ini.
Maliq & D'Essentials sendiri akan genap berusia 22 tahun pada 15 Mei 2024, sehingga perilisan album yang akan dilakukan pada 30 Mei 2024 ini diharapkan bisa membuat Maliq lebih dikenal masyarakat dan karyanya bisa terus dinikmati pencinta musik Indonesia.
