SEAToday.com, Jakarta - Museum Betawi di Setu Babakan, Srengseng Sawah, Kecamatan Jagakarsa, Jakarta Selatan menjadi salah satu usaha untuk melestarikan budaya dan tradisi Jakarta, termasuk kuliner.
Museum Betawi diresmikan pada 30 Juli 2017 bertepatan dengan Lebaran Betawi ke-11 di Perkampungan Setu Babakan.
Museum ini memiliki tiga galeri, yaitu Galeri Pengantin Betawi dan Galeri 8 Ikon Budaya Betawi, Galeri Rumah Orang Betawi, serta Galeri Pengantin Betawi.
Sementara, di lantai 2 pada Galeri Rumah Orang Betawi, bisa ditemukan salah satu ruangan yang didekorasi layaknya ruang makan khas Betawi lengkap dengan meja makan, kursi, hingga piring.
Ruangan interaktif dengan tulisan "Kuliner Khas Betawi" di bagian dindingnya, tersedia peralatan makan yang lengkap.
Hal ini karena di ruangan tersebut akan didemonstrasikan tata cara pengolahan berbagai jenis makanan tradisional Betawi melalui proyektor yang ada.
Pengunjung bisa memilih 13 jenis menu yang ingin dimasak melalui sebuah layar yang ada, mulai dari kerak telor, cucur, selendang mayang, es goyang, bir pletok, dan lain lain. Lalu akan muncul penjelasan singkat terkait bahan dasar, sejarah, serta cerita unik di balik kudapan tersebut.
Demonstrasi pengolahan makanan tersebut juga akan secara otomatis dimulai. Pengunjung bisa melihatnya pada bagian tengah meja makan. Setelah demonstrasi dilakukan makanan pun akan seolah-olah tersaji di piring yang ada.
Di bagian sebelah meja makan, terdapat meja kecil yang menyajikan kuliner-kuliner tersebut dalam bentuk replika lilin, sehingga pengunjung bisa melihat secara nyata kudapan tersebut.
Setelah melihat demonstrasi kuliner Betawi tersebut, pengunjung juga bisa langsung menjajal kuliner-kuliner tersebut karena terdapat penjual yang menjual kudapan khas Betawi itu.
Terdapat berbagai pilihan mulai dari kerak telor, toge goreng, laksa betawi, hingga soto betawi di sana. Pilihan minumannya terdapat es selendang mayang dan bir pletok.
Pengunjung bisa mengunjungi Museum Betawi ini secara gratis dan hanya perlu melakukan registrasi sebelum memasuki museum.
Museum Betawi buka setiap hari Selasa-Minggu pukul 09.00 - 16.00 WIB.
