SEAToday.com, Bangkok - The Yaowarat Road in Bangkok’s Chinatown is experiencing a surge of visitors after being featured in the music video (MV) for "Rockstar," the latest single by K-Pop superstar Lisa.

Lisa, a member of BLACKPINK, released her solo single “Rockstar” on Friday (6/28), and it immediately shattered records. With over 20 million views on YouTube in just 12 hours, it became the most viewed K-pop soloist MV in 2024 for the first 24 hours.

Scenes from the MV were filmed on Yaowarat Road near the Chaloem Buri intersection. The artist reportedly paid shop owners there 20,000 Thai baht (8.9 million rupiah) each to close early for filming.

With visitors of all ages and nationalities now flocking to the location, the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) plans to expand its promotional efforts to include nearby neighborhoods like Sampheng Market and Talat Noi. The city government is also ramping up safety measures in the area to accommodate the anticipated increase in visitors.
