SEAToday.com, Jakarta - Hayao Miyazaki’s latest work, entitled “The Boy and The Heron” is set to premiere in Indonesian cinemas on December 13, 2023, after its initial scheduled release on November 29.

For fans of Ghibli films, the director Hayao Miyazaki needs no introduction. Making a comeback a decade after his last work, “The Wind Rises,” Miyazaki presents his latest creation.

“The Boy and The Heron” narrates the story of Mahito, a teenager during World War 2, who is still grappling with the loss of his mother. Upon moving to a new city, Mahito encounters a mysterious heron, leading him into a world of secrets, magic, and multiverses beyond imagination.

Adapted from the 1937 novel of the same name by Genzaburo Yoshino, the film initially premiered in Japan on July 14, 2023, and received a global showcase at the 2023 Toronto International Film Festival.
