KLP48, AKB48's New Sister Group in Malaysia

SEAToday.com, Kuala Lumpur - AKB48 announced on Monday (1/1) the formation of a new sister group based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, KLP48, after first forming JKT48 in 2011. The official announcement was made by AKB48 via their Facebook account. It is known that KLP48 will debut in Japan in the summer, around June - August 2024.
This announcement was accompanied by the launch of a website at www.klp48.my and KLP48 social media accounts. This makes KLP48 the tenth sister group of AKB48, joining other AKB48 groups outside of Japan that are still active, including JKT48 (Indonesia), BNK48 (Thailand), MNL48 (Philippines), AKB48 Team SH (China), AKB48 Team TP (Taiwan) and CGM48 (Thailand). While three other sister groups that are no longer active are SGO48 (Vietnam), MUB48 (India), and DEL48 (India).
