G-DRAGON Receives Global Acclaim for Collaborating with Palestinian-Owned Label on His New Single
SEAToday.com, Jakarta - G-DRAGON has released his first single in seven years, titled POWER, on October 31. His return after a hiatus has been met with enthusiasm from fans.
In addition to the single, the leader of K-pop group Bigbang has received widespread praise from both fans and non-fans for his partnership with the independent record label from Palestine, EMPIRE.
POWER is the result of a collaboration between G-Dragon's agency in Korea, Galaxy Corporation, and EMPIRE. EMPIRE is owned by Ghazi Shami, a Palestinian entrepreneur who is actively vocal about the humanitarian crisis in Gaza.
Many people on social media have applauded G-DRAGON’s decision to sign with EMPIRE, noting that this move allows him to share visibility and a platform with a vocal Palestinian. This choice is seen as a way to raise global awareness about the ongoing crisis in Gaza.
For your information, G-DRAGON, whose real name is Kwon Ji-yong, was born on August 18, 1988. He is a South Korean artist known for his roles as a singer, songwriter, and producer. Most famous as the leader of the hugely popular K-pop group Bigbang, he has made a significant impact both in South Korea and around the world.
G-DRAGON is known for his creative musical style, distinctive fashion, and major influence within the K-pop scene. He made his debut with Bigbang in 2006 and has released several solo projects that highlight his artistic talents. In addition to his music career, he is also recognized for his philanthropic work and active involvement in various social causes.
