SEAToday.com, Jakarta - The largest Buddhist temple in the world, Borobudur Temple in Indonesia, has been named one of the most beautiful religious sites in the world by the British newspaper The Financial Times (FT) on Friday (12/20).

Borobudur Temple joins 32 other awe-inspiring sacred sites worldwide, including Temple of Light (Austin, Texas), Saghmosavank Monastery (Armenia), and many more. Located in Magelang, Central Java, Borobudur Temple is also a UNESCO World Heritage site and is known as one of Indonesia's most popular tourist attractions.

With around 500 Buddha statues and two thousand relief panels depicting Buddhist teachings, Borobudur Temple offers an extraordinary spiritual and visual experience. In addition to Borobudur Temple, several other sacred buildings in Southeast Asia that also made the list include Shwedagon Pagoda in Myanmar and Khuha Kharuehat Pavilion in Thailand. Borobudur is not only an important place of worship for Buddhists but also a symbol of Indonesia's cultural pride that is recognized worldwide.
