Narita Airport Expands Capacity with More Flight Schedules

SEAToday.com, Jakarta – Narita Airport is gearing up to welcome passengers from around the globe. Starting this October, the airport management plans to increase the number of takeoffs and landings from 300,000 to 340,000 annually. This initiative brings good news for travelers planning a trip to Japan.
As a first step, Narita International Airport Corporation will optimize the use of existing facilities without changing the runway operating hours, which remain from 6:00 AM to midnight.
According to NHK, Japan’s busiest airport is also aiming to increase its capacity to 500,000 flights per year by March 2029, supported by the construction of a new runway and expanded infrastructure.
While ensuring the comfort of nearby residents, this plan is expected to boost economic growth and provide an enhanced travel experience for tourists.
Narita Airport was first opened to the public on May 20, 1974. It is one of Tokyo’s international airports, alongside Haneda.
