Soekarno-Hatta and I Gusti Ngurai Rai Airports Listed in World's 100 Best Airports

SEAToday.com, Jakarta - Two airports in Indonesia have been included in the list of the world’s top 100 airports in 2024. The two airports, Soekarno-Hatta (Soetta) and I Gusti Ngurah Rai Bali, were ranked in the list released by the Skytrax World Airport Awards 2023-2024. Out of 570 airports assessed, only 100 made it into this prestigious ranking.
The rankings were determined through votes from air travelers worldwide as part of the Skytrax World Airport Awards, which evaluate passenger experience from check-in to departure.
Several factors were considered in the assessment, including facilities, comfort, cleanliness, and customer service.
According to an Instagram post by the Ministry of Tourism, Soekarno-Hatta Airport ranked 28th, a significant rise from its 43rd position in 2023.
Meanwhile, I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport ranked 74th, improving from 80th place in 2023.
Arie Ahsanurrohim, Acting Corporate Secretary Group Head of Angkasa Pura Indonesia, stated that the evaluation covered at least 44 service points at the airports and underwent assessment by Skytrax.
“We aim for both airports to continue improving their rankings in the world’s top 100 airports list. In fact, we are targeting Soekarno-Hatta Airport to reach the top 10,” he said.
The world’s best airport in 2024 is Doha Hamad Airport in Dubai, which moved up one spot from 2023. Singapore Changi Airport secured second place.
The third to fifth spots were claimed by Incheon Seoul Airport, Haneda Tokyo Airport, and Narita Tokyo Airport, respectively.
