The Taylor Swift concert in Singapore is also Full of Fake Ticket Sellers
SEAToday.com, Singapore-Singapore has charged two men with fraud at a Taylor Swift concert on Monday (3/4). The two men Yang Chenguang (29) and Li Xiao Wei (45) were each charged with plotting to sneak three people into the concert without tickets.
One of the fans who snuck in was identified as Chinese influencer Yang Junhao, who claims to have unwittingly received fake tickets. “This is me after I was told I had bought fake tickets and was taken out to be questioned by the police. I begged the police to let me stay outside the venue so I could hear Taylor’s voice,” Yang said in a video on Douyin, China’s version of TikTok.
Singapore has some of the strictest laws and anyone found guilty of cheating can be jailed for up to three years. A third man arrested with Yang and Li is under investigation and has not yet been charged, Singapore police stated on Tuesday (3/5).
Previously, many viewers of The Eras Tour were also deceived and bought fake tickets from other people. Even though Ticketmaster has warned the prospective audience of "Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour 2024" that tickets are not allowed to be transferred or resold.
"At the discretion of the Promoter or Ticket Agent, your tickets are IMMEDIATELY INVALID (valid) if resold OR OFFERED FOR SALE," said Ticketmaster, quoted Wednesday (6/3/2024).
"Tickets sold through third parties and other unauthorized outlets, including but not limited to online auction sites, will not be valid for entry. Resold tickets make them invalid and may be refused entry to the venue," they continued.(GHINA/DKD)
