The Release of The Batman Part II is Delayed until 2026

SEAToday.com, Jakarta-Warner Bros. postponed the release of the comic book sequel “The Batman Part II”, starring Robert Pattinson, to October 2, 2026. The movie was first scheduled to be released in theaters on October 3, 2025.
According to the Hollywood Reporter on Wednesday (3/13), internal sources stated that the cause behind the delay in the release of the sequel is the stagnation of screenplay development caused by the writers’ strike in Hollywood that occurred in 2023.
Beside “The Batman Part II”, Warner Bros. also announced changes to the release schedule of other movies. Christian Bale’s “The Bride” will replace “The Batman Part II” premiering on October 3, 2025. Then “Alto Knights”, starring Robert De Niro, suffered a similar fate to “The Batman Part II”, where the screening date was postponed from November 15, 2024, to March 21, 2025.
Matt Reeves is returning to direct “The Batman Part II”. The sequel project was first announced at CinemaCon in April 2022. Then Mattson Tomlin joined to write the story along with Reeves in August of the same year. It hasn't been revealed who will return for the sequel besides Pattinson.
The first movie starred Zoë Kravitz as Catwoman, Andy Serkis as Batman’s butler Alfred Pennyworth, and Colin Farrell as the crime lord known as the Penguin. “The Batman” was a box office success, earning US$770.3 million globally. (GHINA/DKD)
