SEAToday.com, Berau - Nature lovers must know this! On the coast of East Kalimantan, precisely in Biduk-biduk District, Berau Regency, there is a unique and beautiful lake, called Labuan Cermin.

Located in the middle of a tropical rainforest, Labuan Cermin lake is not far from the coast. The lush forest covers the Karst around the lake, adding to the beauty of the scenery around the lake.

Its position near the sea and the Karst area makes this beautiful lake have another feature, which is that it has two layer of water with different flavors that do not merge. Fresh water flows in the upper layer of the lake, sourced from the Karst area, while the bottom of the lake is fed by salt water from the sea.

Well, because the upper part is fresh water from the Karst area, visitors can swim to feel the cool water. In addition to swimming, visitors can rent a paddle board to go around the lake. The rental fee is cheap at around 80 thousand rupiah and can be used as much as possible. The manager also provides many facilities for tourists to explore and feel the uniqueness of this lake.

For a more challenging experience, visitors can try free diving. By renting snorkeling equipment and frog legs, two flavors of fresh and salty lake water can be felt at once. No need to dive too deep to find the saltwater layer, it only takes 30 seconds of diving.

Another uniqueness that can be seen when diving in this lake is the different types of fish that live at the bottom and surface of the lake. At the top visitors will see freshwater fish, while at the bottom, there are fish that usually live in the sea.

The unique scenery and experience has made Labuan Cermin popular among travelers. For this reason, the local government continues to develop public facilities around the lake, making it more comfortable to visit.
