SEAToday.com, Jakarta - Ijen Crater Natural Tourism Park (TWA) re-opened on Sunday, 8 September 2024. The popular destination located in Bondowoso Regency and Banyuwangi Regency was closed for tourist visits on 12 July 2024.

‘In order to increase education and multiplayer effects for improving the welfare of the community around the Ijen Crater Natural Park (TWA) area, the Ijen Crater Natural Tourism Park (TWA) area starting from 8 September 2024 is open for nature tourism, climbing, and research activities for the public,’ said a circular signed by the Head of the East Java Natural Resources Conservation Agency (BB KSDA) Nur Patria Kurniawan, 6 September 2024.

According to the Circular, the above activities should be carried out by following the applicable Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), starting from preparing basic climbing safety equipment (flashlights, masks, anti-cold clothing), and following the applicable protocols.

Ticket reservations can be accessed online through the tiket.bbksdajatim.org page. According to information in the official Instagram upload of BB KSDA East Java @bbksda_jatim_official, in addition to the entrance ticket, it is also required to prepare a health certificate before leaving. It is also conveyed that tourists should always obey the rules of visiting the Ijen Crater.
