Raja Ampat Named One of National Geographic’s Best of the World 2025 Destinations!

SEAToday.com, Jakarta - Raja Ampat was listed as one of the best tourism destinations in National Geographic’s “Best of the World 2025”, Sunday (10/27). On its website, Raja Ampat was described as a “marine wonderland” with around 500 species of coral and more than a thousand species of reef fish. This makes it one of the richest marine ecosystems in the world. In addition, zebra sharks and dugongs are among the species that have been successfully preserved thanks to conservation programs in the region.
In addition to its stunning marine beauty, Raja Ampat is renowned for its exotic birds of paradise. The coral islands surrounded by crystal-clear waters create a breathtaking view, making it an ideal destination for those in search of both peace and adventure.
National Geographic editor-in-chief Nathan Lump said this year’s selection focuses on travel that inspires excitement and curiosity.
Other destinations on the list include the Eastern & Oriental Express luxury train in Malaysia and trekking trail in Volcán de Fuego, Guatemala.
