SEAToday.com, Jakarta-The ASEAN Korea Film Festival (AKFF) 2024 has officially begun on Wednesday (11/13) at Pacific Place’s CGV in Jakarta. This year’s AKFF presents 8 select films from Korea and four ASEAN countries, namely Indonesia, Malaysia, Vietnam, and Thailand.

The AKFF 2024 was opened with a remark from Republic of Korea (ROK) Mission to ASEAN Ambassador Lee Jang Keun. In his speech, he explained the connection between movies and the culture of a country. He hoped this kind of forum could bridge cultural understanding between Korea and ASEAN countries, leading to the establishment of good connections between the countries.

“Utilizing the global popularity of Korean films, we would like to bring our ASEAN (countries) and Korean together. And to be connected, and to understand.”

Lastly, he hopes that visitors can enjoy all the films that will be screened during the AKFF 2024.

AKFF is an annual film festival regularly held by the Mission of the ROK to ASEAN since 2021. Therefore, AKFF 2024 will mark the fourth consecutive time this event has been held.
