SEAToday.com, Jakarta - Behind the scenes, the production team of Indonesia's latest animated film, Jumbo, from Visinema Studios is strategically developing its characters—Jumbo, Don, Mae, Nurman, and Atta—into a sustainable and globally recognized evergreen IP (Intellectual Property).

Visinema Studios CEO, Herry Budiazhari Salim, revealed that the development of Jumbo as an evergreen IP has been carefully planned with multiple strategies.

"We hope more creators in the industry will follow suit because Indonesia has great potential to establish evergreen IPs in the future," Herry stated, as quoted on Antara, during a press conference in Setiabudi, South Jakarta, on Thursday.

Directed by Ryan Adriandhy, Jumbo is set to premiere during Ied 2025, but this is just the beginning.

The production team has prepared various IP expansion strategies, including merchandise, digital content, and alternative storytelling formats, aiming to create a lasting connection between audiences and the Jumbo universe, akin to successful global animated franchises.

A key factor in building an evergreen IP is fan engagement. The Jumbo team will conduct in-depth analyses of audience preferences to develop relevant content and products.

One innovative approach includes collaborations with brands, such as an ice cream company launching a special flavor featuring Jumbo’s main character, Don. This strategy broadens the appeal of the locally-produced animation while keeping Jumbo fresh and relevant.

The film’s production involves dedicated performances from renowned voice actors, including Ariel Noah, Bunga Citra Lestari, and Cinta Laura Kiehl, ensuring compelling character portrayals.

With over 400 local animation creators contributing to Jumbo, and strong support from the Ministry of Creative Economy as a facilitator and promoter, Herry and Visinema Studios are optimistic that this Indonesian IP will reach global recognition and become a true evergreen IP.
