SEAToday.com, Jakarta - President Prabowo Subianto is set to introduce a major digital transformation in government services through the integration of Government Technology (GovTech) on August 17.

A key aspect of this initiative is the requirement for every household to have a bank account, ensuring that social assistance is distributed directly and accurately to beneficiaries.

Chairman of the National Economic Council (DEN), Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, announced this following a closed meeting led by President Prabowo, which was attended by DEN officials and several economic ministers.

"The President intends to launch the GovTech program on August 17, integrating all existing applications across ministries and agencies. This initiative will not only improve efficiency but also significantly curb corruption," Luhut stated, as quoted by Antara, during a press briefing at the Presidential Office in Jakarta on Wednesday.

He highlighted that GovTech would centralize public services, making them more transparent and reducing the risk of corruption.

During the meeting, President Prabowo also introduced a strategic measure to ensure every household possesses a bank account. This would enable direct transfers of social aid, preventing misallocation and ensuring assistance reaches those in need.

"We estimate that this initiative could save nearly IDR 100 trillion, with more detailed calculations to follow," Luhut added, as quoted by Antara.

Furthermore, President Prabowo is scheduled to meet with hundreds of young innovators involved in the GovTech project.

GovTech is designed around four core pillars aimed at improving governance and public services. The first pillar focuses on optimizing state revenue by enhancing tax collection and non-tax revenue (PNBP) through Coretax for taxation and Simbara for earnings from mineral and coal resources.

The second pillar seeks to improve efficiency in government spending. The introduction of e-catalogue 6.0 will enable real-time monitoring, cross-ministerial coordination, automated needs analysis, and data-driven vendor assessments, ensuring state funds are used effectively and free from corruption.

The third pillar enhances public services by streamlining key processes such as population administration, driver’s licenses (SIM), passports, education, and healthcare. This digital transformation aims to cut down on excessive bureaucracy, making public services more efficient and accessible.

The fourth and final pillar focuses on facilitating business and investment. Improvements to the Online Single Submission (OSS) system will accelerate business licensing and strengthen Indonesia’s investment appeal. A more integrated OSS platform will better support small and medium enterprises (SMEs) while attracting greater foreign and domestic investments.
