"Jumbo" Breaks Through One Million Viewers in First Week

SEAToday.com, Jakarta - The Indonesian animated film Jumbo has reached one million viewers as of Sunday (4/6), just seven days after its theatrical release on March 31, 2025.
Directed by Ryan Adriandhy and created over five years with the help of more than 420 Indonesian artists, “Jumbo” has broken the record for the most-watched local animated film—surpassing “Si Juki The Movie: Panitia Hari Akhir” (2017), which previously held the record with 642,312 viewers.
“This milestone is not the end, but the beginning of Jumbo’s journey into more hearts, more places, and even international markets,” said producer Anggia Kharisma, as reported in a press release from Visinema Studios, as quoted on Antara, on Monday.
“It reflects the love, hope, and trust that audiences have for local creative works,” she added as quoted on Antara.
The film has received strong support from both audiences and industry figures, sparking a grassroots promotional campaign dubbed "Buzzer JUMBO Gratisan."
Anggia expressed gratitude to viewers for making Jumbo a part of their family memories.
“The warm response from Indonesian audiences has made every challenge over the past five years worth it,” she said as quoted on Antara.
The film features an ensemble of voice actors including Prince Poetiray, Quinn Salman, M. Adhiyat, Yusuf Ozkan, Graciella Abigail, Den Bagus Satrio, Angga Yunanda, Ariel Noah, Bunga Citra Lestari, Cinta Laura Kiehl, Ariyo Wahab, Rachel Amanda, Aci Resti, and Kiki Narendra.
Prince Poetiray and Quinn Salman also perform the film’s official theme song, “Selalu Ada di Nadimu.”
In addition to its domestic success, “Jumbo” is being prepared for international release, with distribution targeted in countries such as Russia, Belarus, Ukraine, Moldova, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania.
