SEAToday.com, Jakarta - Welcoming the 2025 homecoming period, Google Maps presents a new feature that allows users to get information about KRL Commuter Line such as arrival time at the station to the position of the train in real-time.

Strategic Partnerships Development Manager of Google Maps Indonesia Galuh Rohmah said this new feature is the result of collaboration between Google and PT Kereta Commuter Indonesia (PT KCI).

“Google Maps not only displays KRL schedule information, but also the estimated time of train arrival at the station, train position tracking, and notifications if the train is delayed or arrives early,” she said.

Google's collaboration with PT KCI is to provide a good experience for travelers in the city or traveling within the city.

Besides KRL services, Google Maps also provides information about long-distance train travel, such as departure schedules, a list of stop stations, and the names of operating trains.

“Because there must be additional trains, additional trains specifically for homecoming, everything will be accessible on Google Maps,” said Galuh.

To support the trip of travelers who use private vehicles, Google Maps also collaborates with a number of related institutions such as the National Police, Jasa Marga, Korlantas, and the Ministry of Transportation to provide more accurate navigation information.

As part of this collaboration, Google will hold a coordination meeting with these institutions which is planned to be held on March 11, 2025.

“We will focus on discussing what data we can show, what accurate data for travelers later during the peak of the homecoming and return flows. Data such as contra flow, new roads on the toll road, and so on,” said Galuh.
