SEAToday.com, Jakarta - Chrisye's “Badai Pasti Berlalu” album has been re-released on vinyl by record labels Mastersound and Elevation Records.

The album was once named the best Indonesian album by Rolling Stone Indonesia magazine in 2007.

The album was re-released because the physical release of the album is currently difficult to find. The album, which was first released in 1977, was never designed to be released on vinyl.

“This is a monumental album but just like most masterpiece albums in Indonesia, physical artifacts from that year no longer exist,” said Taufiq Rahman, Co-founder of PHR Pressing representing Elevation Records.

“Visually, this album was never designed to be released as a vinyl record format because it was originally only released in cassette format and there was never a vinyl format from 1977 and the vinyl in circulation that costs almost hundreds of millions is probably a radio copy that was only printed in very limited quantities,” he said.

Meanwhile, the process of reissuing this album was done from scratch, where the label first looked for the best quality audio recording of the 1977 version.

“So audio-wise, and if you can listen to it now, it's more than decent, I think it's the result of hard work from the world's major studios,” said Taufiq.

The vinyl of "Badai Pasti Berlalu ” is available in two color variants, namely green for IDR 595 thousand and black for IDR 495 thousand.

The album “Badai Pasti Berlalu” was released in 1977 and contains the theme song of the movie of the same name directed by Teguh Karya and starring Christine Hakim, Roy Marten, and Slamet Rahardjo.

Eros Djarot as the music director, invited several singers and musicians in the production process of this album including Chrisye, Berlian Hutauruk, Yockie Suryo Prayogo, Keenan Nasution, Debby Nasution, and Fariz RM.
