SEAToday.com, West Nusa Tenggara - Calling out surfers! For most surfers, Bali might be too crowded to surf. But if you happen to have a vacation in Bali, you have to try some surfing sites in West Nusa Tenggara, the neighboring island of Bali. Here are the surfing spots available in West Nusa Tenggara from beginner level to professional level as mentioned by the West Nusa Tenggara Tourism Board.

  1. Selong Belanak

This beach, which is famous for its long, wide, sloping, and white sandy coastline, is one of the most popular surf spots in Central Lombok Regency. With interesting wave pressure and rolls and not too high, it is a suitable spot for beginners who want to learn the sport of surfing.

  1. Senggigi Beach

Needless to say, this beach located in West Lombok Regency is one of the most popular destinations among tourists. Not only known as a destination with beautiful sunset views but Senggigi Beach is also known as one of the surf spots with friendly waves for beginners.

  1. Gerupuk Beach

For surfers, one of these spots may be familiar. Located about 15 minutes from Kuta Beach Lombok, this beach is suitable for those of you who are good at surfing. The strength of the waves and the wind are big enough to be the target for surfers. According to surfline.comGrupuk’s wave has a height of 1,8 m to 2,4 m around February.

  1. Areguling Beach

Still around the southern part of Lombok, Are Guling Beach is a white sand beach with quite a lot of coral. The waves are also quite large. But besides having a good surf spot, what is no less interesting is the exotic scenery of this beach that makes you feel at home here. According to surfline.comAre Guling has fair wave height starting from 1,5 m to 2,1 m around February.

  1. Bangko-bangko Beach

Known as Dessert Point, this beach is one of the best spots for surfers to surf. Having challenging waves and also known to have left-hand waves, this spot has been named by Aussie Track magazine as the best surf spot in the world. So, for beginners, don't even try this spot!

Apart from the big waves, tourists can enjoy a 1-kilometer beach area that is so barren like a desert. That's why the surf spot is called Desert Point. Desert Point gave birth to Usman Trioko, a native of NTB who became the best surfer and has participated in surf competitions in Bali, Hawaii, USA, and Australia. (ALIF/DKD)
