SEAToday.com, Jakarta - Waerebo Tourism Village in East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) will reopen for tourist visits on March 10.

Waerebo Village previously closed for visits since January 18, 2025 due to bad weather. According to the village's official account (@waerebo.official) the heavy rain and extreme weather resulted in landslides that made access to the village difficult.

After almost two months, the tourist village is ready to reopen after repair and restoration efforts.

“Management of the Waerebo Cultural Preservation Institute in an Effort to Reactivate the Waerebo Tourism Village Area Officially Reopens Waerebo Tourism Activities on 10 March 2025,” the account wrote in its upload on Wednesday (2/26).

The reactivation of this ecotourism area is also said to carry the concept of forest for healing by not prioritising the number of visitors (mass tourism), but the quality of tourism through the use of humanitarian aspects and natural sustainability.
