Victoria Beckham's Paris Fashion Week Show Stormed by Animal Loving Activists

SEAToday.com, Jakarta - Victoria Beckham's fashion show at Paris Fashion Week was overshadowed by animal rights activists from PETA protesting against the use of animal products by the brand owned by the wife of former footballer David Beckham.
According to CNN's report on Tuesday (5/3/2024), the activists wore white vests with the slogans 'turn your back on animal skins' and 'animals aren't fabric' as they joined the models on the catwalk. On Friday, they walked with the models while holding a paper that read 'Viva vegan leather' before being escorted out by security.
PETA pointed out that although the mother-of-five's brand has banned the use of fur and exotic skins in its collections, it still uses leather, including calfskin.
'No clothing or accessory is appropriate for the violent slaughter and skinning of sensitive and intelligent animals,' said PETA Vice President for Europe Mimi Bekhechi in a statement.
She suggested that Victoria Beckham consider using existing ethical and eco-friendly innovations, such as high-quality leather made from apples, grapes, pineapples, mushrooms, and other materials.
At the end of the fashion show, Victoria Beckham walked along the runway with a cane, which her husband explained was due to an accident at the gym.
The 49-year-old designer's fall/winter 2024 collection features a variety of styles, including sheer dresses, sculpted curved hems and necklines, and boxy blazers.
