Masayu Anastasia and Atiqah Hasiholan Gain New Experience in Melukis Harapan di Langit India Movie
SEAToday.com, Jakarta-Actress Masayu Anastasia shared her experience when she first went to India for “Melukis Harapan di Langit India”. As the movie’s Devi, Masayu learned to dance for six months. She added that the film production process was delightful.
“From this movie I learned again about what acting is, because the reading process itself, dancing, took about six months,” said Masayu Anastasia at HERS Production Office, Tuesday (11/12).
On top of learning how to dance, Masayu also had to speak using the Minang dialect. Although she comes from Minang, Masayu admitted that she could not speak Minang.
“I'm a Minang person who doesn’t speak Minang. I had to talk with older people, so I had to use the Minang language,” she explained.
In addition to that, she admitted that many unique experiences occurred during the filming process. One of them was when filming in Kerinci.
“If we have a day off, we read at midnight, find a noodle shop, then, in the afternoon we run in the morning together,” said Masayu.
On the other hand, Masayu also said that it was her first time visiting the country, which is famous for its Taj Mahal. Her first time in India gave her an exciting impression during the filming process in the country.
One of the exciting experiences Masayu had was when she was filming in front of Shah Rukh Khan’s house. She uploaded that moment on her Instagram account @masayuanastasia.
“I myself may have idolized Shah Rukh Khan at that time, but at that time I didn’t have time to meet him because every time Shah Rukh Khan came to Indonesia, I was in the hospital,” Masayu said.
This made Masayu waved her hand, calling Shah Rukh Khan, even though she claimed the 59-year-old actor was not home.
Meanwhile, actress Atiqah Hasiholan, who also played a role in this movie, also shared her experience facing a unique and tough challenge, which is Indian dancing.
“In this filming, what is memorable and difficult for me is learning Indian dance,” said Atiqah Hasiholan at HERS Production Office, Tuesday (11/12).
“I’m not flexible, and here I have to dance Indian,” she continued with a laugh.
Atiqah admitted that this was her first experience dancing in a movie. Not only dancing, Atiqah also shared stories about her role as a mother who has delusions of Indian artists.
“The story here is very unique, for me there are many differences because the characters are unique. I get the challenge of playing a mother with delusions, obsession with one figure to a celebrity, it really exists,” she explained.
“Well, I play a character like that. So the chaos of this story starts with the delusional mothers that I play,” Atiqah concluded.
The movie “Melukis Harapan di Langit India” tells the journey of a woman named Devi (Masayu Anastasia) who believes that Indian actor Amitabh Bachchan is her biological father. This makes Devi, who is in Indonesia, fly to India to find the truth she has been looking for for years.
Directed by Emilka Bias, the movie will feature shooting in three countries, namely Indonesia, India, and Nepal. Besides Atiqah and Masayu, the movie also stars Rifnu Wikana, Mario Irwinsyah, and Ricky Komo.
“Melukis Harapan di Langit India” has just released its official trailer and poster and will hit the theaters starting December 12, 2024.
