SEAToday.com, Jakarta - Apple has officially launched its latest iMac model powered by the new M4 chip, which debuted in May 2024. The company released the iMac on (10/28/2024), and it promises significant performance improvements over previous models. 

According to Apple, the M4 chip allows the new iMac to perform everyday tasks like accessing Microsoft Excel or Word up to 1.7 times faster than the M1-based iMac, while Safari browsing is now 2.1 times quicker.

In addition to speed, the M4 iMac is designed for intensive creative work, making photo editing on Adobe Photoshop and Premiere Pro 2.1 times faster than before. 

The computer is also claimed to deliver double the frame rate and work four times faster than the latest Intel Core i7 chip. With these advancements, the iMac aims to enhance the creative workflow of professionals who rely on high-speed processing.

The iMac M4 also features an improved Neural Engine, integrated to support a personal intelligence system known as Apple Intelligence. This feature is crafted to enhance user privacy and improve communication and self-expression capabilities. 

“The iMac now showcases the high-speed M4 chip along with Apple Intelligence, wrapped in an impressive, ultra-thin design,” Apple stated on its official site, as cited from Apple official website.

The new iMac M4 offers various configurations, catering to different user needs. It’s available with CPU/GPU configurations of 8 cores with 16GB or 256GB storage, and higher-end models include 10 cores with up to 512GB of storage. 

There are also two models differing in Thunderbolt USB-C 4 port configurations, with options of two or four ports for extended connectivity.

Apple has also upgraded the display, maintaining a 24-inch screen with a 4.5K Retina Display, now enhanced with a nano-texture glass option that reduces reflections and glare. Higher-end models can support two external 6K displays at 60Hz or one 8K display at 120Hz, improving flexibility for advanced users.
