Culture Ministry Supports Initiative  to Open 17 New Cinemas for Local Movies

SEAToday.com, Jakarta - Minister of Culture Fadli Zon has supported for the launch of 51 new cinemas under the name Sam's Studio, set to begin operations on December 5. These cinemas will be spread across 17 cities, including Cibadak, Sukabumi, Cianjur, Subang, Garut, Indramayu, Pemalang, Gombong, Pekalongan, Ungaran, Salatiga, Klaten, Solo, Nganjuk, Kediri, Pasuruan, and Probolinggo.

Fadli Zon praised this initiative as the new cinemas will exclusively shows Indonesian movies. The cinema buildings also feature an innovative design that integrates into the local lifestyle ecosystem.

"This approach is built quickly to create a kind of lifestyle ecosystem that involves small and medium enterprises (SMEs)," said Fadli on Monday (11/25).

Fadli hopes this initiative will further drive the growth of Indonesia's movie industry.
