SEAToday.com, Bangli-Menurut kepercayaan dan mayoritas kebiasaan di Indonesia, plasenta bayi atau ari-ari biasanya dikubur di pekarangan rumah. Namun, di Desa Bayung Gede, Kecamatan Kintamani, Kabupaten Bangli, tradisi ini tidak berlaku.
Desa Bayung Gede adalah salah satu desa adat Bali kuno karena itu ada banyak tradisi unik di sini. Salah satunya, menggantung ari-ari bayi di pohon Bukak yang ada di setra atau kuburan ari-ari bayi. Menurut kepercayaan warga setempat, tradisi ini bertujuan agar pekarangan rumah tidak kotor sehingga terhindar dari pengaruh negatif.
Sebelum digantung di pohon bukak, ada tahapan yang harus dilakukan. Ari-ari dibawa bayi harus dibersihkan dahulu. Kemudian diletakkan di dalam batok kelapa. Nah, di dalam batok diisi sekam, merica, pisau bambu, dan perlengkapan lain, kemudian belahan batok kelapa ditutup. Belahan itu diolesi kapur sirih beserta goresan simbol tapak dara atau tanda tambah.
Batok kelapa diikat dengan salang tabu atau tali bambu. Ayah si bayi wajib membersihkan diri, memakai pakaian adat lalu membawa ari-ari ke kuburan dini hari, dan menggantungnya sebelum matahari terbit.
Ayah bayi biasanya memilih pohon yang sudah ada banyak ari-ari, ini ada kaitannya dengan kepercayaan warga. Jika ari-ari bergerombol, maka nantinya si anak akan mudah berbaur dengan masyarakat.
Usai dari Setra Ari-ari, si ayah membawa daun pakis atau paku yang didapat dari kuburan, kemudian meletakkannya di depan rumah. Ini adalah tanda bahwa di keluarga tersebut terdapat orang yang habis melahirkan.
Meski hanya digantung, ari-ari bayi yang ada di sini tidak menimbulkan bau busuk. Warga setempat percaya bau busuk tersebut telat dinetralisir oleh pohon Bukak. Secara ilmiah bunga Pohon Bukak mengandung minyak atsiri yang berperan penting dalam penyerapan bau busuk.
Setra Ari-ari di Desa Bayung Gede luasnya mencapai 40 are atau 4000 meter persegi. Tradisi ini terus dilestarikan oleh warga setempat sebagai kearifan lokal.
