SEAToday.com, Lombok - The Mount Rinjani National Park Authority (TNGR) in Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara, will implement a "zero waste" policy through the "Go Rinjani Zero Waste 2025" campaign.

This campaign mandates climbers to repackage food and beverages brought along in reusable containers.

The zero waste policy will be enforced starting in April 2025 after a three-month closure. From January to March each year, climbing activities on Mount Rinjani are always closed to allow for environmental recovery in the area.

Currently, Mount Rinjani has three standard operating procedures, namely climbing, waste management, and evacuation. The head of TNGR said that this indicates that the management of Mount Rinjani climbing tourism is ready to achieve the zero waste target.
