SEAToday.com, Los Angeles - “No Other Land”, a film made of the collaboration between Palestinian and Israeli filmmakers won Oscar for Best Documentary, Sunday (3/2).

The film is a story about Palestinian activists fighting to protect their communities from demolitions by the Israeli military. It follows Basel Adra, as he risks arrest to document the destruction of his hometown at the southern edge of the West Bank. Adra’s pleas fall on deaf ears until he befriends a Jewish-Israeli journalist, Yuval Abraham, who helps him amplify his story.

During the acceptance speech, co-directors Adra said the film reflected the “harsh reality” Palestinians have faced for years. He also called on the world to “take serious actions to stop the injustice and to stop the ethnic cleansing of the Palestinian people”.

Furthermore, Co-director Abraham said that they made the film together because “together our voices are stronger.” He also called for the end of “atrocious” destruction in Gaza and the people.
