SEAToday.com, Jakarta - Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing Team owner Valentino Rossi and two other riders Marco Bezzecchi and Fabio Di Giannantonio were spotted wearing red and white batik patterned jackets at the official launch of the VR46 team in Riccione, Italy, Wednesday (1/24).
The jacket worn by Rossi is a collaboration between local Indonesian brand Iwearzule (@iwearzule) and illustrator Tony Midi (@tonymidi_artworks).
Through his Instagram account, Tony Midi said the batik design carried the theme “Batik Nusantara” by combining various batik motifs from different regions in Indonesia. Meanwhile, the red and white colors were chosen as symbols of the Indonesian flag to create harmony in a batik artwork.
The design also reflects the latest collaboration between VR46 and PT Pertamina Lubricants, which has become the main sponsor of VR46 for the next three seasons.
