SEAToday.com, Seoul - Korean actor Lee Sun-kyun was found dead on Wednesday (12/27). Local police found the Oscar-winning actor, who starred in the movie "Parasite," unconscious in a car in a downtown park in Seoul's Seongbuk district at around 10.30 a.m. local time. The veteran South Korean actor's death is suspected to be a suicide, as charcoal briquettes were found in his car.
Earlier, police had received reports that Lee had left his home after writing an alleged suicide note and that his car was missing. Lee has undergone three police searches for alleged use of marijuana and other illegal drugs since the beginning of the year, including one on Saturday (12/23).
Lee tested negative in a quick reagent test conducted during the police investigation and in a laboratory drug test by the National Forensic Service last month. The day before, Lee requested a lie detector test from the Incheon Metropolitan Police Agency in charge of the investigation and maintained his innocence.
